Overview

This Conduct Civil Construction Dozer Operations training course is aimed at those currently working or seeking work in operational roles in the mining and construction industries and will be required to operate a dozer.

Applicants are required to hold a valid Class C licence as a minimum. If you’ve just arrived in Australia, you can join the course with your international C-Class licence, as it’s valid for up to three months. After that, you’ll need a WA driver’s licence or an International Driver’s Licence Permit (IDP) to participate.

Students will attain the theoretical knowledge and practical application and understanding required to safely and efficiently operate a dozer and will be able to:

  1. Plan Dozer Operations: Interpret documentation, clarify instructions, identify hazards, select PPE, arrange traffic signage, choose dozer equipment, prepare for emergencies, and coordinate on-site.

  2. Operate Dozer: Conduct pre-start checks, rectify/report faults, drive and operate according to site conditions, monitor hazards, ensure safety, and manage equipment performance.

  3. Use Dozer Attachments: Select, fit, test, and use attachments, following workplace procedures for use and storage.

  4. Relocate Dozer: Prepare for relocation, safely move between sites, assist in loading/unloading.

  5. Conduct Housekeeping: Clean work area, manage hazards, and complete necessary documentation.

 

This course consists of two essential components: Theoretical and Practical.

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

Entry Requirements

To enter the Dozer Ticket Perth WA / Dozer Course Perth WA, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must be 18 years old and above

  2. Present photo I.D. on arrival

  3. Applicants are required to hold a valid Class C licence as a minimum. If you’ve just arrived in Australia, you can join the course with your international C-Class licence, as it’s valid for up to three months. After that, you’ll need a WA driver’s licence or an International Driver’s Licence Permit (IDP) to participate.

  4. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.

    1. Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.

  5. Wear steel cap boots and remove all jewellery prior to commencement

  6. Bring along a hi-vis vest

  7. Ability to read, write and understand English

Individuals holding a student visa are not eligible to enrol in, participate in, or attend this course, whether face-to-face or online, as Saferight is not registered with CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students). Student visa holders are encouraged to seek training with a CRICOS-registered institution to meet their requirements.
