Overview

This CPCCLSF2001 – Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level training course specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform basic scaffolding work. Scaffolding work involves erecting, altering or dismantling a temporary structure to support a platform from which a person or object could fall more than four metres.

Students will attain the theory and practical application to perform scaffolding properly and will be able to:

  1. Plan Task: Review instructions, consult, obtain safety and compliance information, identify hazards and required equipment, establish communication.

  2. Select and Inspect Equipment: Choose and check risk controls, PPE, and scaffold gear for functionality.

  3. Set Up Task: Communicate plans, implement safety measures, assess ground and foundation suitability, prepare scaffold.

  4. Basic Scaffolding Activities: Erect and dismantle various scaffolding types like modular or pre-fabricated scaffolds, materials hoists, gin wheels, safety nets, and static lines. Ensure compliance with workplace and manufacturer standards, and manage scaffolding for tasks like tank and formwork.

  5. Complete Task: Clear area, inspect and store equipment, complete documentation, and dismantle safety measures.

This course consists of two essential components: Theoretical and Practical.

Outline

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be 18 years old and above

  2. Ability to read, write and understand English

  3. Present photo I.D. on arrival

  4. Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form upon arrival at the training facility. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation

  5. Wear steel cap shoes/boots and remove all jewellery prior to commencement

HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE

Disclaimer: Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant/conduct this skill.

A High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) is a photographic licence, issued to people who have been trained and assessed as competent to work in a class of work defined as high-risk work.

Here’s What You Need to Know:

  • Licence Applications:

    • Saferight does not handle HRWL applications for individual bookings and group bookings via credit card payment. During your training, we will only equip you with all the essential information and paperwork needed to apply for your High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) directly with WorkSafe WA.

  • Passport Photo Service:

    • Saferight provides a passport photo service for a fee of $20 (not included in the course fee). This service produces a set of 6 passport photos required for your HRWL application, available during your training period.
