PREREQUISITES

Participants must hold a current Statement of Attainment/Qualification and High Risk Work Licence for CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to Perform Dogging & TLILIC0023 – Licence to Operate A Slewing Mobile Crane (Up to 60T) prior to attending this course.

This CO Crane Ticket (Slewing Mobile Crane) course is aimed at those required to safely operate a slewing mobile crane with a maximum rated capacity (MRC) over 100 tonnes, in accordance with all relevant legislative responsibilities.

Students will attain the theoretical knowledge and the practical application to operate a slewing mobile crane with an MRC over 100 tonnes properly and will be able to:

  1. Plan Work/Task: Identify task requirements, confirm lift plan, assess site and crane capacity, identify hazards, establish communication, ensure equipment compliance.

  2. Prepare for Work/Task: Consult on crane operations, check safety, access crane, conduct pre-start checks, set up crane and gear, stabilize crane, assess weather conditions, confirm load weight and lifting points.

  3. Perform Work/Task: Conduct lifts within crane capacity, position boom/jib, connect and use lifting gear, monitor load and crane movement, follow communication signals, safely land load.

  4. Pack Up: Secure crane equipment, apply locks and stabilizers, shut down crane, and perform post-operation checks.

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To enter the C0 Crane Ticket in Perth WA (Slewing Mobile Crane) / Open Crane Ticket course, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Students must hold a valid Statement of Attainment/Qualification & HRWL prior to commencing this course with Saferight:

  2. Must be 18 years old and above

  3. Present photo I.D. on arrival

  4. Applicants are required to hold a valid Australian Class C licence as a minimum

    1. Please note that you will need an HR (Heavy Rigid) Vehicle Licence in order to drive a CO Mobile Crane in the metro area. Please go to the Department of Transport website to apply for this licence as it is not included in the training provided.

  5. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.

    1. Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.

  6. Wear steel cap shoes/boots and remove all jewellery prior to commencement

  7. Ability to read, write and understand English

HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE

Disclaimer: Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant/conduct this skill.

A High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) is a photographic licence, issued to people who have been trained and assessed as competent to work in a class of work defined as high-risk work.

Here’s What You Need to Know:

  • Licence Applications:

    • Saferight does not handle HRWL applications for individual bookings and group bookings via credit card payment. During your training, we will only equip you with all the essential information and paperwork needed to apply for your High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) directly with WorkSafe WA.

  • Passport Photo Service:

    • Saferight provides a passport photo service for a fee of $20 (not included in the course fee). This service produces a set of 6 passport photos required for your HRWL application, available during your training period.
