Overview
This course involves the skills and knowledge required to operate portable and appliance-mounted fire fighting pumps safely and efficiently at an emergency situation and covers preparing pumps to deliver water, operating pumps and concluding pump operations. It also includes inspecting response equipment, testing response equipment and cleaning, maintaining and restowing equipment.

Qualification Requirements:
PUAFIR210 - Prevent Injury
AND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
PUAFIR203 - Respond to Urban Fire OR
PUAFIR220 - Respond to Isolated Structure Fire OR
PUAFIR204 - Respond to Wildfire OR
PUAFIR205 - Respond to Aviation Incident (Specialist)
Entry Requirements:
Photo ID must be presented on arrival at the training premises.
You will need a USI in order to receive your Qualification or Statement of Attainment for this training program.
Participants must wear long pants, long sleeve shirts and steel cap boots.
Language, literacy and numeracy requirements from the unit are:
Writing is required to the level of completing written assessments.
Numeracy is required to enable the determination of similar activities.
Assessment Requirements:
The course will be based on theoretical sessions, equipment demonstrations and practical exercises.
Participants who are deemed competent will receive a Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued by RIKLAN Emergency Management Services (RTO 51994) under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Delivery Mode:
Face to face and practical hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services Trainer/Assessor with strong knowledge of relevant Legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.

The course will be conducted over 1 day.
